Walk Europe

Walk England is a subsidiary of Walk Europe: an independent, non-profit organisation. Its aims are to promote new social and cultural understanding among different European communities through sustainable ecotourism, namely exploring landscapes and various national traditions. By  encouraging  learning from real resources- people  sharing their present life and experiences - Walk Europe aims to achieve sustainable positive attitudes between various communities and groups  of different European countries.

Walk England organises  illustrated lectures, seminars, walks, excursions, and treks throughout Europe  for small groups for all ages and all abilities. It relies on local tour leaders and local transportation, and provides unique opportunities to travel off the beaten tourist track and communicate with a mix of local people from all ranks of society.

Research shows walking to bestow health benefits on a variety of debilitating conditions such as depression, Hypertonia, obesity. Walk England promotes walking as a means of improving health for young and old through its educational programmes of lectures and seminars, and via its publications.

Walk England’s itineraries are designed to be as flexible as possible in order to maximise interaction and cultural exchange with local communities and their respective cultures and landscapes. Walk England values the “unpackaged” tourism experience and promotes walking as an ethical form of tourism in which the mutual respect, sustainable development of the environment and protection of natural and cultural heritage of the country are paramount.
